June 15th: Congratulations to Coaching Manitoba Bursary Recipient Stacey Kern from Swan River Gymnastics. Stacey was chosen from 57 applications as one of the 4 Coaching Manitoba bursary recipients. Congratulations also to Nadia El-Gabalawy and Jacueline Friesen who were one of 12 finalists selected to receive the bursary.

MANITOBA’S KATHY STOESZ PRESENTED WITH THE FOX 40 KITCH MACPHERSON AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
Manitoba’s own Kathy Stoesz was honored this past weekend at the Sports Officials of Canada’s Annual Conference in Ottawa. Kathy was the recipient of the inaugural award sponsored by Fox 40 International Inc. and the Sports Officials of Canada for her significant contribution to officiating at the National and International level.

**Congratulations to Sheena Reed on being awarded the Community Sport Administrator Award. She was recognized by the Manitoba Gymnastics Association for her contribution as a volunteer to Sports in Manitoba. Sheena was presented with this award October 25th at the 2003 Recreational Coaches Conference.

17 MEDALS CAPTURED IN EVENT FINALS, AUGUST 4TH
Justin Smith led the men with 4 Gold medals, Michelle Dewyn led the women with 2 Gold medals & a Bronze in Event Finals. Justin Smith won Gold on Vault, Horizontal Bar, Rings & Floor despite a nagging wrist injury. Stephen Tetrault won Gold on Parallel Bars, Silver on Pommel Horse, Horizontal Bar & Rings, and Bronze on Floor & Vault. Nicolas Lees earned Bronze on Parallel Bars.
Michelle Dewyn won Gold on Vault & Uneven Bars and Bronze on Balance Beam. Toni Montanti won Silver on Uneven Bars, Katrina Howard won Silver on Floor and Stephanie Friesen captured a Bronze on the Uneven Bars. Congratulations to all athletes and coaches!

Sandra Grevstad elected to the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee!
On Saturday, April 12th , the Provincial Sport Organizations elected Sandra Grevstad, from Panthers Gym Club and the MGA’s past President, to a three year term on the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame Selection Committee. Congratulations Sandra!
